A Little Keg Carrying

I thought today instead of just recapping everything I did in my workout, I would give you a short video of me having fun carrying the Keg. In the video I carry a 160# keg for 120 feet, with turns every 30 feet. I could go a little faster then I am, but I picked a bad spot to do it. The ground was very uneven, I was going faster and stepped on an uneven spot and fell right before this video was shot. Sorry not posting any video of that :)

After this round, I did several more with a slight variation. I would set the keg down at each 30 foot mark and then pick it right back up and continue, just for a little extra difficulty.

Feeling pretty comfortable with this event for my upcoming competition. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  • The thing that really blows my mind is that you’re basically ‘jogging’ while carrying something that weighs more than I do!

Milda – yea kinda crazy if you think about it. Since starting Strongman training, I have been some crazy stuff that I never thought I would :)

Mandy – Thanks, glad you liked it :)

  • that is a great video and like Milda said, amazing that you are running carrying that thing.. Is is wrong that I replayed the video only to look at the garden as you ran past.. Veggie or flower.. I can’t tell but it looks nice..

What is that keg filled with? I imagine as a red blooded male you have tapped the beer and refilled with water or something.

Thanks JJ – the keg is actually still filled with beer. The guy I bought it off of never emptied it and just trained with it, what a WASTE! Its over 2 years old and has been shaken many times, so no longer good :( (bowing my head in a moment of silence). I have another I might fill with sand.

Lol..the garden is veggies and herbs, with a few flowers that the rabbits don’t like. Have a mix of everything in there. I figured you would like it :)
