Unilateral Training With a Sledge and Tire
Lately besides doing strongman exercises, I have been incorporating more unilateral training into my workouts. Unilateral work is great for correcting weaknesses. If you think about it, you move your body using unilateral movements more often then you do with bilateral movements. So why wouldn’t train that way?
Here is a video I shot using unilateral movements in sledge hammer slams on a tire. Take a look and then go out and try it. Besides being a great core and conditioning movement, these exercises are a great way to work off some stress.
Here is a picture showing a few hand held sledges that you could use. As I said in the video there is a variety of sizes that you can use.
